About Carlota

The story of Carlota Flower Lab began with Paola Mendoza and Rolando Torres embarking on a journey of training at the best floral art schools globally, such as Flower School NY, Centro de Arte Floral, and McQueens London.

 In November 2018, the couple held their first workshop in Mexico City, marking the beginning of a series of successful workshops that have trained approximately 3,000 people in commercial floristry. Their teachings have reached cities like Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Guatemala, and Lisbon.

Their love for sharing knowledge has led Carlota Flower Lab to organize international workshops with top mentors in the floral industry. They have collaborated with renowned figures such as McQueens Flower School in London, Lacy Bird from Moscow, Holly Chapple, Susan McLeary, Gilberto Freihoff, and Mikey Putnam from the United States. These workshops have attracted students from all over the world, including Mexico, the United States, Canada, Guatemala, Argentina, Colombia, Italy, and Spain.

Since 2020, we have made our dream of offering workshops in Mexico come true year after year, bringing the best industry speakers, including McQueens Flower School from London, Lacy Bird from Moscow, Susan McLeary from Michigan, Holly Chapple from Virginia, Gilberto Freihoff, a successful Mexican florist in the United States, and Michael Putnam from New York. We’ve brought together students from various parts of Mexico and the world, including Canada, the United States, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, Colombia, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Spain, and Italy. Each year, it’s an incredible joy for us to see how Mexico has become an international reference, thanks to the hard work and love put into these workshops. And we’re just getting started…

Carlota Flower Lab has not only earned the admiration of its students but also of major companies and platforms. In 2018, they collaborated with Paris Hilton’s shoe brand for an event in Mexico City. In 2019, Lincoln Mexico invited them to offer customized classes for their clients. In 2021, they were globally recognized by Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook as one of the 500 most successful startups in Latin America on social media. Additionally, they were named one of the ten most recognized florists in the world by the “Florists’ Review” magazine from the United States.
