Mineral Search is a full featured and graphically pleasing software product for the mineral and gem enthusiast, including a Database of over 700 minerals, with multiple Photos and listing of 22 properties each. In addition to a user friendly Browser sortable by Name or Dana number, and a mineral Name Search, the program includes an interactive, combination Property Search tool for identifying an unknown mineral or gem, using up to 14 criteria such as Color, Streak, Specific Gravity, Mohs' Hardness, Crystal System, and Chemical Formula - and for Gemstone enthusiasts, also Refractive Index and Birefringence. Finally, Mineral Search offers a Cataloging module for your Mineral and/or Gemstone collection, where you can log by Photos, Sample description, Habit or Gemstone cut, source, etc. This program is designed for the levels from Beginner to Advanced, or just the Gemstone enthusiast. The Database is classified by "Common" gems and minerals, or just "Gem" minerals, or "All", so just select your desired database when Browsing or Searching. For the advanced user, you can Add a Mineral to the database if our 700+ listing does not include your favorites.
